Alarm systems use replaceable batteries as backup power in the event that there is a loss of current from your home wiring. In addition, sensors in wireless systems are powered by batteries as well.
Most batteries have a life of approximately three years and need periodic replacement. The first sign of the possibility that a battery change may be necessary would either be a beeping keypad or an LCD screen indicator.
When it becomes necessary to change batteries in one or more components, you should contact our Technical Support department at 866-882-3872. We can help you to determine what type of battery your system requires as well as assist you with the installation. The instructions for replacing batteries are also contained in your User Manual.
Most of the replacement batteries are easily obtainable from local stores. Since the reliability of your system can depend on the batteries you choose, always use the same brand and type of batteries as those that you are replacing and look for the "best before" date printed on the package.
